Using FreeCast Outside the U.S.

Modified on Thu, 15 May at 1:23 PM

Why is certain content blocked for me when using FreeCast outside the United States?

Unfortunately, some content providers have IP restrictions on their shows, channels or movies based on region. When this happens, you may encounter an error message like you see below.

This is done in large part to ensure that each country is able to view content according to its own cable broadcasting schedules, etc, which often differ from those in the U.S.

For this reason, we do not recommend our service to most users who are located outside of the United States. However, if you are traveling outside the country and still want to view certain U.S.-based content, you may be able to so with the help of a VPN (Virtual Private Network) service.
